Synopsis
Oldboy (Korean: 올드보이) is a 2003 South Korean action thriller film directed and co-written by Park Chan-wook. A loose adaptation of the Japanese manga Old Boy by Garon Tsuchiya and Nobuaki Minegishi, the film follows Oh Dae-su, who is imprisoned for 15 years without knowing the identity of his captor or his captor's motives. When he is released, Dae-su finds himself trapped in a web of conspiracy and violence as he seeks revenge against his captor and falls in love with a young sushi chef, Mi-do.

Esc to closeI have this doubt about about DV in Blu-ray vs Web-DL.
So my tcl tv supports dolby vision(both mp4 and mkv) and in web-dl it plays on DV by default but on the bluray it plays with HDR 10 by default and I don't even know if it can be changed to dolby vision. I am perfectly satisfied with the picture quality of HDR 10 as it is a 4k Blu-ray so the bitrates are nice but I wonder if DV plays better which it usually does according to the DV vs HDR comparsions on youtube saying it's like almost 10% better image on most cases. I asked gpt and it said it might be due to different profiles of DV. But I couldn't get more out of gpt other than that. So my question or even a suggestion is that can answer here on the FAQ page about what are these different profiles of dolby vision and why doesn't the profile that 4k blu ray uses play on my tcl tv, I found out that web-dl have profile 5 and 4k bluray has profile 7 as far as I know and even that has two types FEL and MEL. Anyway please tell me how I can play dv in my tcl tv
If it doesn't support profile 7 bluray in your TV then there's no way you can make it support unless you convert FEL to MEL. There's DVTools available. You can use it to convert FEL to MEL. But I don't recommend.
If there's no BluRay available then watch DV
But if BluRay FEL available in REMUX, and it plays in HDR, then it still best for TV for better bitrate than using low bitrate DV
